An Evening In Flagstaff, AZ

During a 2-week trip to the United States, I spent a weekend in Arizona visiting Sedona, The Grand Canyon, and the city of Flagstaff. While in Flagstaff I wanted to take the opportunity to make some photos after dark with the Moment Cinebloom 20% pro mist lens filter.

In the heart of the city, I found this old school diner which displayed the taste of Americana I was looking for when planning this shoot. The use of the Cinebloom pro mist filter gives a dreamy feel to the images and helps create a cinematic look when paired with a few second exposure and some bright neon lights.

Being my first attempt at creating images that could be stills pulled from a movie, Iā€™m really happy with what this combination of gear and subject matter produced. This was definitely a jumping off point for me which has built a foundation of inspiration to continue to create this style of photo.

Going one step further to really hone in on the cinematic look, I have cropped a few of the images into the 16x9 aspect ratio consistently used in the world of cinema. This slight change, for me, takes the images closer to the realm of Hollywood blockbusters.
